Thanksgiving Costs Are Down in Iowa As Holiday Cheer Continues To Rise

While the oven is hot and inflation is cooling, Iowans can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy their holiday meals. As families come together to celebrate Thanksgiving, we’re thankful that lower costs are on the menu as Bidenomics builds the economy from the bottom up and middle out. This stands in stark contrast to the MAGAnomics agenda being spread all over the state by the 2024 Republican contenders pushing to subsidize the lifestyles of the ultra-wealthy and raise costs at working families’ expense.

Thanks to Bidenomics, the cost of Thanksgiving meals has fallen – meaning even the cousin you don’t like that much can still be invited:

Des Moines Register: “This year’s Thanksgiving dinner will cost 4.5% less than last year’s.”

CNN: “Thanksgiving dinner will be less expensive this year. You can thank turkeys (and cooling inflation)”

The Center Square: “Thanksgiving dinner cheaper in Iowa this year”

Radio Iowa: “Iowans who are heading to the grocery store this weekend to stock up for next week’s big feast will be pleased to hear they may actually be paying less to feed the family for Thanksgiving.”

It’s not just the cost of food. Iowans will also pay less to travel to visit family for the holiday meal:

Amos Hochstein: “We’re at the lowest [gas] prices now since Thanksgiving of 2020.”

KCRG: “Gas prices in Iowa drop nearly 10 cents for $2.96 statewide average per gallon”

“Gas prices in Iowa are 35.6 cents lower per gallon than a month ago and are 44.6 cents lower per gallon than a year ago.”
