In the wake of his comments to the Des Moines Register about sexual harassment in the state government, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price is calling on Senator Bill Dix to resign:
“Senator Dix needs to resign.
‘It happens all the time’ is neither an appropriate response nor an accurate one to sexual harassment in the workplace.
His lack of maturity in acknowledging the failures of his staff and the seriousness of sexual harassment is deeply troubling.
In addition to his inappropriate response to sexual harassment in his own workplace, his complete lack of remorse for costing Iowa taxpayers $1.75 million dollars demonstrates such poor judgement, I don’t know how the GOP or Iowans can trust him to be a leader in our State Senate.
Governor Reynolds and the GOP need to rethink their support for Senator Dix and take responsibility for the Party culture that allowed a man with this little character to become their leader in the State Senate.”
