Iowa Democratic Party Announces Precinct Caucus Locations

The in-person caucuses will take place on January 15, 2024 at 7 p.m.

Today, the Iowa Democratic Party shared locations of the 2024 in-person precinct caucuses.

The current list of caucus locations is available at iowademocrats.org/caucus. The list will continue to be updated between now and January 15.

“Our county parties and volunteers are working hard to make sure we have a successful in-person caucus night,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “It’s vital that Iowa Democrats show up to their caucus locations and get involved in our democratic process. Iowans want to bring balance back to our state and the work to make that happen begins on January 15.”

The Iowa Democratic Party will conduct traditional party business at the in-person precinct caucuses including electing delegates and alternate delegates to county conventions, electing county central committee members and submitting platform resolutions for county conventions.

No actions related to presidential preferences will be taken at the 2024 in-person caucuses. Instead, Iowa Democrats will be able to cast their presidential preference through the mail by requesting a preference card at iowademocrats.org/caucus.

The last day to submit a request is February 19, 2024. Results from the presidential preference will be released on March 5, 2024.

Iowa Democrats are also committed to celebrating and honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The in-person caucuses are taking place on Dr. King’s federal holiday. Our Iowa Democratic Party Black Caucus will continue to hold roundtable events throughout the state to engage with voters and educate Iowans about the work of Dr. King.
