IDP Chair Rita Hart Issues Statement on Local Election Results
Today, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart issued the following statement regarding local election results:
“Last night, progressive candidates who believe teachers should be supported by their communities and not villainized by politicians who have never stepped foot in a classroom won across the state – from Linn-Mar to Mason City to Urbandale. Iowans clearly love their public schools, which is a message they will take with them to the ballot box again in 2024 and beyond.
This is a big win for Iowans who believe every student should have access to a quality public school education. The greatest investment Iowa can make is in our children because they are our next generation of leaders, small business owners, farmers, and more.
The candidates who won their elections last night are the future of the Iowa Democratic Party. I will do everything I can to make sure they have the resources they need to be excellent public servants and keep their seats to build on their success,” said IDP Chair Rita Hart
