Democrat State Auditor Rob Sand: the Most Popular Politician in Iowa
The numbers are in: Iowa voters say Democratic State Auditor Rob Sand is the most popular politician in Iowa with an approval rating of 55%, according to the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll.
He’s more popular than Governor Reynolds – whose approval rating has dipped below 50% – and Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, who only has the approval of 2 in every 5 Iowans. Sand is also more popular than the entirety of the Republican-led Iowa State Legislature, which has also seen its approval rating dip below 50%.
“Iowa Republicans should learn a thing or two from Rob Sand instead of attacking his office,” said IDP Chair Rita Hart. “Rob shows up – visiting all 99 counties every year. He looks out for taxpayers – uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse wherever he finds it. He recognizes that Iowans are exhausted with politics and just want to see the government work for them. It is good to see Iowans recognizing the incredible job he is doing for us.”
