Battleground Iowa Launches Weekend of Action

Building on the momentum from the DNC Convention, Battleground Iowa’s first Weekend of Action is this weekend

DES MOINES  — This weekend, Iowa Democrats are building on the excitement from the DNC Convention to launch Battleground Iowa’s first Weekend of Action. With more than 90 virtual events across the state, the massive grassroots effort is focused on energizing voters and encouraging vote by mail at a critical time in the election.

As part of Battleground Iowa’s grassroots strategy to bring more voices into our party, hundreds of Iowans have been trained by local organizers on how to connect with their community and educate others on how to safely vote by mail. These VoteLead volunteers are dedicated to helping turn out the vote in their communities from now until Election Day.

This weekend’s virtual events will target crucial counties across the state and college campuses, including University of Northern Iowa and Drake University student events. Already, over 800 volunteers statewide are registered to participate in Weekend of Action and help flip Iowa blue in November.

Event details and RSVPs can be found at Mobilize Battleground Iowa.
