Iowa Democrats Condemn Trump’s Dangerous Des Moines Rally, Potential Super-Spreader Event
President Trump — who may still be contagious with coronavirus — is threatening Iowans’ safety with this shameless political stunt
DES MOINES — Ahead of President Trump’s reckless Des Moines rally, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Mark Smith released the following statement:
“As Iowa is closing in on 100,000 confirmed COVID cases and seeing record numbers of COVID hospitalizations, the last thing we need is any person who may still be contagious with the virus holding a potential super-spreader event here in Iowa. In no way, shape or form should Governor Reynolds or any of our Republican leaders allow for this event to happen. Iowans need a President who will put the health and safety of the country above their own ego. There is no argument: Joe Biden will be that president.”
