Today, the Iowa Democratic Party released the following statement from Chair Troy Price marking the celebration of Veterans Day.
“Today we take the time to say thank you to the brave Americans who have sacrificed so much for our country. Our veterans and the values they represent constantly remind us of the importance of our Democracy. They have our gratitude, as well as, an unwavering commitment from us that we will do everything in our power to maintain the integrity of the Democracy they fought to protect.
We are concerned that under current leadership, the state of Iowa isn’t keeping its promises to our veterans. From the disastrous Republican takeover of Medicaid to the massive cuts to critical DHS programs, the programs that are supposed to help our veterans once they come home are being dismantled.
Democrats stand at the ready to find solutions and produce results for our veterans, because that’s what they did for us while serving in the Armed Forces.
To every veteran in Iowa and across the country, we wish you a happy and healthy Veterans Day.”
