Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement in response to Ashely Hinson’s announcement to run for Congress in IA-01:
DES MOINES – “Ashley Hinson has demonstrated time and again that she will put her party over the people she represents. Whether it is workers’ rights, accessible health care, or funding for our schools, Rep. Hinson went out of her way to do what her party demanded, and not what was best for Iowans.
“For too long, Iowans in the First District did not have a voice in Washington when it came to fighting for the kitchen table issues that matter most to working families. Abby Finkenauer has restored that voice and her dedication to ensuring opportunities for working families is why she’ll keep the IA-01 district blue in 2020.”
