Following Governor Reynolds’ abrupt firing of Iowa Finance Authority Director Dave Jamison, the Iowa Democratic Party is asking for greater transparency around the circumstances of his termination through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Despite her longtime friendship with the Director, Governor fired Jamison without a formal complaint being filed and without an official inquisition. This action was a sharp departure from her previous inaction on sexual harassment happening in the statehouse and among her political allies.
“The people of Iowa deserve greater transparency about Governor Reynolds’ handling of sexual harassment at the Iowa Finance Authority. And since Governor Reynolds has shown herself unwilling to provide the public with this information, the Iowa Democratic Party is doing what we can to get to the bottom of this situation and restore public trust in state government,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price.
