DES MOINES — The Iowa Democratic Party is excited to announce Congressman Colin Allred of Texas as our featured speaker for the upcoming Liberty and Justice Celebration on Saturday, April 30 at the Iowa Events Center.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Congressman Colin Allred to Iowa and for Iowa Democrats to gather together in-person for the first time in more than two years,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Ross Wilburn. “I’ve seen the incredible grassroots organizing that local folks are doing every day across Iowa ahead of the midterm elections and this event is a great opportunity for Iowans to catch a glimpse of that momentum building within our party.”
Congressman Allred was elected in the historic class of 2018 along with Congresswoman Cindy Axne. A former NFL linebacker and voting rights attorney, Allred serves on the Democratic House leadership team where he has been a leader in working to protect democracy both here and abroad by strengthening voting rights laws and his work on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The Iowa Democratic Party’s Liberty and Justice Celebration is an opportunity to highlight the strength of the party heading into the 2022 elections, and to celebrate the candidates and campaigns that are organizing to turn Iowa blue in 2022.
