Iowa Democrats Line Up to Cast Their Ballots, Encourage Others to Vote Early

Iowa Democrats Held Rallies in Davenport, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Wednesday Morning as Early Votes Begin

DES MOINES – Democrats hosted events in Davenport, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Wednesday morning and marched to the polls as they opened with groups of eager early voters.

All six statehouse Democrats from Johnson County were in Iowa City this morning, which includes Senators Zach Wahls and Janice Weiner, and Reps. Adam Zabner, Elinor Levin, Amy Neilsen, and Dave Jacoby. Former State Senator Bob Dvorsky also attended the event.

Congressional candidate Lanon Baccam was in Des Moines to meet with early voters, along with Iowa state senate candidate Matt Blake, Iowa State Senator Nate Boulton, State Representative Mary Madison and Polk County Supervisor Candidate John Forbes.

Christina Bohannan, candidate for IA-01 hosted a rally with early voters in Davenport.

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart led voters to the polls in Cedar Rapids.

What to know about early voting:

  • Early in-person voting begins today and ends on November 4.

  • You can vote early in-person at your county auditor’s office during business hours

    • Some counties have satellite early voting locations.

  • Be sure to bring a valid form of ID with you to cast your vote.
