Today, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement in response to three-time failed IA-02 candidate Mariannette Miller Meeks’ decision to run yet again for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District:

“Iowans rejected Mariannette Miller Meeks in 2008. They rejected her in 2010. They rejected her in 2014. And they will reject her in 2020. Miller-Meeks is wildly out of touch with everyday Iowans. She has praised a radical plan that would end Medicare’s guarantee and even supports raising the retirement age.

“Hardworking Iowa families can’t afford afford to take a gamble on Miller-Meeks’ dangerous agenda. We’re going to continue to work hard to ensure that this seat remains in Democratic control come November 2020.”

Miller-Meeks joins an increasingly crowded GOP primary field led by former Illinois Congressman Bobby Schilling.
