Iowa is Blueprint for Trump’s radical plan to “close up” Dept. of Education

Des Moines, IA — During the bizarre interview with Elon Musk on Twitter, Donald Trump admitted he wants to get rid of the Department of Education and cited Iowa Republicans as the model for the country.

“Everyone should be paying attention to what’s happening to public education in Iowa, because that’s the blueprint for Donald Trump,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “As a retired educator, I recognize how lucky I was to teach when Iowa was a national leader for public education and envied by states across the country. Now, we’re seeing schools close, educators leaving the state, teacher morale at an all time low, and millions of tax dollars being funneled to private schools. Let Iowa be a warning: if Donald Trump and Republicans get power – America’s children will be left behind!”
