Representative Chris Hall, Will Be Holding A Press Conference Highlighting Governor Reynolds and Republicans Budget Mismanagement, Prioritizing Wasteful Corporate Tax Giveaways At The Expense of Investing In Iowans

On Monday, State Representative Chris Hall, will be speaking at the state capitol, pointing out the hypocrisy and empty rhetoric of Governor Kim Reynolds and state Republicans, who continue to argue they are standing up for everyday Iowans, while their budget says otherwise.

Under Governor Reynolds, the total amount of state tax credits and tax cuts to corporations has substantially increased, putting the state budget in the red, and coming at the expense of crucial services Iowans need – education, mental health care services, and public safety.

While the state continues to send money to out-of-state corporations, investment in Iowa – and Iowans – has suffered. Even programs Governor Reynolds has signaled as a priority, such as Future Ready Iowa and mental health services, have only received minimal funding and is at risk of not succeeding due to her continued fiscal mismanagement and misplaced priorities.
