Grassley Says Bipartisan Tax Bill Makes President Biden ‘Look Good’

“I think passing a tax bill that makes the president look good, mailing out checks before the election means he could be reelected…” Chuck Grassley said

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan tax bill this evening, in a move that Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley said makes President Joe Biden look good.

“I think passing a tax bill that makes the president look good, mailing out checks before the election means he could be reelected…” Chuck Grassley told a reporter Wednesday. Read more here.

The tax bill includes an expansion to the Child Tax Credit, which would bump up the maximum amount a family can receive per child to $2,100, up from $2,000, and provides tax relief to businesses.

“I haven’t been able to agree with Chuck Grassley often as of late, but today I agree that this bipartisan tax bill is another example of Joe Biden making a difference in Iowans’ lives,” said IDP Chair Rita Hart. “It’s nice to see that  long-time Republicans can’t help but recognize the good work President Biden is doing to lower taxes for Iowa’s families.”
