Ashley Hinson Loses Final Senate Debate as Iowans Prepare to Cast Their Ballots
DES MOINES – At tonight’s U.S. Senate debate, Ashley Hinson once again failed to distract Iowans from her corrupt, self-dealing record that has come at the expense of Iowans whose healthcare she is cutting and costs she is raising.
“Tonight, Ashley Hinson once again could not hide from her votes to drive up the cost of gas, groceries, healthcare, and housing – all while making herself richer,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “Between now and Election Day, no Iowan will be fooled into thinking Ashley Hinson is anything other than a corrupt D.C. politician who only fights for herself and her wealthy donors. In 21 days, Iowans will reject her.”
Since coming to Congress, Hinson has sold out Iowa because she only fights for herself, her billionaire friends, and corporate donors. Her corrupt, self-dealing record includes, among many others:
- Using more than $50,000 in taxpayer dollars to pay for a “luxury” DC apartment.
- Increasing her net worth by up to 15x by owning up to $5 million in insurance stock that she made as much as $1 million from last year alone.
- Helping her shadow lobbyist husband gain access to her and the rest of the Iowa congressional delegation.
- Fighting for a tax break that “benefits her own fortune.”
- Raking in more than $200,000 from Big Oil companies that are reporting “their highest level [of profits] in years” at the expense of Iowans.
- Accepting “over $660,000” in campaign donations from Big Pharma and healthcare industries, including as she pushed to make healthcare more expensive for Iowa seniors and cancer patients.
