Zach Lahn Brags About Affordability as Diesel Prices Hit an All-Time High

DES MOINES – Kansas carpetbagger and career political operative Zach Lahn has spent the week bragging about affordability. It’s more proof that Lahn is shamelessly out-of-touch with Iowans as diesel prices are at an all-time high, inflation is up in the Midwest, and Iowans have paid an extra $3,700 for gas, groceries, housing, and health care.

Lahn fully supports tariffs that are making life unaffordable for working families, saying that “the idea that every tariff is a bad tariff is not true” and claiming that tariffs are “positive.”

He’s also tried to paper over his support for the war in Iran, which has jacked up the price of fuel and fertilizer, by finally releasing his first — and only — policy plan. But Lahn’s plan doesn’t go far enough to lower costs for Iowans: since announcing his gas tax cut, gas prices have risen from $4.10 to $4.35, wiping out the savings his plan was supposed to deliver. Lahn is offering Iowans empty gestures and meaningless political stunts while ignoring the fact that his D.C. party bosses are the reason prices are through the roof.

The Lahn-backed cost-of-living crisis is crushing Iowa families and farmers:

From Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Terra Hernandez:

“Kansas carpetbagger and career political operative Zach Lahn is so out-of-touch with Iowans that he thinks life is affordable while working families are getting crushed by policies he supports that are skyrocketing gas, utility, and grocery prices. Iowans literally can’t afford a governor who will rubber stamp the chaos coming out of D.C., but Lahn has proven he won’t stand up to his own party for families and farmers.”
