BREAKING: Ashley Hinson Votes For a Seventh Time to Continue the Iran War Even as Other Iowa Republicans Say Enough is Enough
Hinson Voted to Continue the War Despite Representatives Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks Both Voting to End the Conflict
DES MOINES – Late last night, Ashley Hinson cast her seventh vote to continue the war in Iran as it devastates Iowa with “record diesel prices,” “surg[ing]” gas costs, fertilizer prices “near peak levels,” and inflation higher than the national average.
While other Iowa Republicans hit their limit and break with their party to end the conflict, Hinson is continuing to stand by a costly war that a broad majority of Iowans have said they want ended.
“While other Iowa Republicans have had enough of the costly Hinson-backed Iran War, Ashley Hinson is doubling and tripling down on supporting another forever war in the Middle East that is crushing Iowans,” said Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Drew Myers. “Despite falsely claiming to work across the aisle, Hinson is Iowa’s least bipartisan member of the congressional delegation and clearly too afraid to break with her party bosses and Big Oil donors. More than ever, Hinson is completely and totally responsible for the pain Iowans are experiencing from this war.”
Key Context: Ashley Hinson continues to publicly defend the war in Iran and downplay the impact on Iowans, despite admitting in private that it’s a “political liability.” She has raked in tens of thousands of dollars from Big Oil companies seeing record profits up to $14 billion from the Iran war.
