DES MOINES – A new report from MeidasTouch News has revealed a pattern of Ashley Hinson’s campaign spending tens of thousands of dollars on upscale restaurants and “lavish” five-star resorts even as she tells Iowans that she’s a “working mom” who knows “what is facing our families here in Iowa.”
According to the report, Hinson’s expensive campaign tab includes:
- “Over $80,000 on meals at steakhouses, upscale Italian restaurants, and popular spots for politicians and lobbyists,” including over $39,000 on food and beverage at the GOP Capitol Hill Club, a “private club for Republicans”and a “popular spot to meet with lobbyists,” and over $9,500 at The Capital Grille in Washington, DC, an “upscale” steakhouse.
- Nearly $10,000 for lodging at “beach resorts, opulent Vegas casinos, expansive retreats, one of the top ski lodges in the world, and a premier Beverly Hills Hotel.”
- Over $3,000 on a trip to the luxury Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, California an “ultra-luxe,” “exclusive” stay where the least expensive rooms cost over $1,000 a night.
- Over $1,500 on a stay at the luxury Fountainbleau Hotel in Las Vegas which has been called “a fortress of indulgence” that featured “over-the-top amenities,” including the Lapis Spa and a six-acre pool deck.

- Hinson’s campaign also spent over $4,300 dining on 34 separate occasions at Bullfeathers, a favorite spot for Republican members of Congress.
- Hinson also took lavish vacations to some of the most exclusive luxury resorts in the U.S. as recently as 2026, with her campaign spending nearly $10,000 for lodging at beach resorts, opulent Vegas casinos, expansive retreats, one of the top ski lodges in the world, and a premier Beverly Hills Hotel.
- In February 2026, Hinson’s campaign spent over $1,400 on a stay at The Breakers Resort and over $300 at the Breakers Seafood Bar in Palm Beach, Florida, a luxury beachside hotel that had hosted guests ranging from European nobility to American presidents.
- In April 2022, Hinson’s campaign spent over $3,000 on a trip to the luxury peninsula hotel in Beverly Hills, California, an “ultra-luxe,” “exclusive” establishment where the least expensive rooms cost over $1,000 a night.
- In August 2024, Hinson’s campaign spent over $1,500 on a stay at the newly opened, “lavish” luxury Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas which has been called “a fortress of indulgence” that featured “over-the-top amenities” including the Lapis Spa and a six-acre pool deck.
- Despite her lavish lifestyle, Hinson recently called herself a “working mom,” a “minivan-driving mom” and said, “I know what is facing our families here in Iowa.”
