Zach Nunn Takes Five-Week Vacation As Iowans Face Rising Prices
Average Gas Price Up 12 Cents in Iowa, Diesel Prices Increased 32 Cents This Week
Des Moines – As Zach Nunn enjoys a five-week, taxpayer-funded vacation, Iowans are facing increased gas prices that have already cost Iowa households $516 in higher gas prices.
Nunn voted for a sixth time to continue the war in Iran as the Iran conflict causes gas and diesel prices to rise in Iowa.
As Nunn takes his long vacation, here’s what’s happened during the last week in Iowa:
- Gas soared again to over $4 a gallon in Des Moines
- Diesel is up 32 cents, rising to an average of nearly $5 per gallon,
- Costs are likely to continue increasing as the price of oil skyrockets to $100 per barrel.
Zach Nunn has spent the few hours he’s actually been at work in Congress making health care more unaffordable and inaccessible for Iowans. Nunn voted against a bipartisan effort to extend ACA tax credits to stop health care costs from skyrocketing. His vote is expected to increase insurance costs for 117,890 Iowans by 97 percent – an average $1,080.
“Iowans deserve leaders who prioritize bringing down the cost of living, not a drone who sticks to a failing status quo and won’t even bother showing up for a single town hall during their five-week-long vacation,” said IPD Spokesperson Paige Godden. “Why is Nunn refusing to do his job?”
