ZACH PLAHN: Lahn Dodges Questions on His Taxpayer-Funded Commute to Kansas
DES MOINES – In a new interview on Iowa Press, carpetbagger and career political operative Zach Lahn once again refused to answer basic questions about how often he would travel back to Kansas if he’s elected and how much those flights would cost taxpayers.
Lahn has said he would “be in Iowa as much as humanly possible” if elected, but still won’t tell Iowans how often he plans to travel back to Kansas as governor of Iowa.
- When Lahn was asked how he would adjust his living situation as governor, he dodged the question and desperately lied about Rob Sand to distract from the facts. After the interview was taped, Lahn was fact-checked by The Gazette.
- When moderators pressed Lahn on his living situation, saying that voters “have some concerns” about how he would “be distracted” from the job, Lahn once again refused to answer the question.
After Lahn was exposed for using his private plane to travel weekly between Iowa and Kansas, he has refused to say whether he’d expect taxpayers to bankroll his own private plane travel if elected.
- When Lahn was asked if state troopers will escort him during his personal flights to Kansas, he brushed the question off by saying “it’s something I haven’t even thought about yet.”
From Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Terra Hernandez:
“Kansas carpetbagger Zach Lahn continues to dodge basic questions about where he lives, how often he would travel back to Kansas, and whether Iowa taxpayers would be forced to bankroll his commute. It’s hard to take ‘Iowa first’ seriously from a part-time commuter who can’t even commit to being a full-time governor.”
