NEW: Ashley Hinson’s Senate Primary Opponent Urges Iowans Not to Vote for Her in November
Iowa Republican Senate Candidate Jim Carlin: Hinson Values “Insiders Over the Voice of Ordinary Americans”
DES MOINES – Iowa Republican Senate Candidate Jim Carlin is imploring Iowans to ditch Ashley Hinson this November, telling his fellow Republican voters in a press release today that he “cannot in good conscience ask [Iowans] to vote for Ashley Hinson.”
He warned Iowans that Hinson’s campaign caters to “donors, lobbyists, corporations, and Washington insiders over the voices of ordinary Americans.”
“Even Ashley Hinson’s fellow Republicans do not trust her to represent them in the U.S. Senate because they know that she will continue to sell out Iowans to enrich herself and her billionaire donors,” said Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Drew Myers. “They’re correctly skeptical of Hinson’s corrupt record that is making health insurance more expensive and sending the cost of living skyrocketing, all while increasing her wealth by up to ten times thanks to holding as much as $5 million in insurance stock.”
Siouxland Public Media: After losing party primary election, Carlin urges Republicans not to vote for Hinson
- The fellow Republican who lost a party primary election to Ashley Hinson for the U.S. Senate seat in Iowa is now urging Republicans not to vote for her in the November election.
- In a Monday release, Carlin said nominees need to earn votes, and he contends Hinson has not done that.
- “I cannot in good conscience ask you to vote for Ashley Hinson. She does not share our values and a Republican label is not enough,” Carlin said.
- He said Hinson’s campaigning model relied on “donors, lobbyists, corporations, and Washington insiders over the voices of ordinary Americans.”
- Hinson’s campaign did not immediately comment on Monday afternoon.
