Ahead of War Powers Vote, Gas Prices in Randy Feenstra’s District Are Higher Than the Iowa Average
DES MOINES – Ahead of today’s planned vote in the House to continue the war in Iran that’s sent gas, diesel, and fertilizer prices skyrocketing, the cost of gas in Randy Feenstra’s congressional district is already higher than the Iowa average.
Gas is $4.28 a gallon in Feenstra’s home county of Sioux as a result of his votes to continue the war in Iran that’s making everything more expensive for working families. Feenstra previously bragged about gas prices and promised to “reduce prices at the gas station” as a campaign talking point. Now, as costs continue to climb under his watch, Feenstra is telling Iowans to put up with “a little higher gas price temporarily.”
In March, Feenstra admitted his vote to continue the war in Iran caused a “massive” and “catastrophic” increase in fertilizer and fuel prices for Iowa farmers.
From Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Terra Hernandez:
“Iowans celebrating Memorial Day weekend are paying more at the pump because the only thing Randy Feenstra is taking to ‘new heights’ is the cost of gas. Feenstra didn’t just break his promise to lower costs — he voted to make everything more expensive and stuck Iowans with the bill.”
