DES MOINES – The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote imminently on a bipartisan bill that would allow for the sale of year-round E15.

Ashley Hinson, however, has already failed Iowa farmers and families by stringing Iowans along with false promises for over a year that a year-round E15 deal was coming soon even as gas prices continued rising because of her votes supporting the war in Iran

“Ashley Hinson won’t be able to spin the facts away that she’s already failed farmers and families for over a year with lies that year-round E15 was right around the corner,” said Iowa Democratic Party spokesperson Drew Myers. “In that time, Iowans have been paying the high price for her failure at the gas pump while farmers were hurt by low commodity prices. Iowans are going to want a new leader this November who can deliver lower costs and a better ag economy.”

Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network: E15 Heads to House Vote Under Cloud of Distrust

  • A standalone bill allowing nationwide year-round sales of E15 is still expected to receive a vote in the U.S. House this week, but the path to that vote has created growing frustration among many agriculture state lawmakers.
  • The tension began when Speaker Mike Johnson removed E15 language from the larger Farm Bill package during negotiations aimed at securing support from oil state Republicans and advancing other legislative priorities.
  • While House leadership has maintained that E15 would still move forward separately, some lawmakers from both parties, including representatives from major agriculture states, have voiced concern about whether the promised standalone vote will ultimately happen.
  • House leadership has continued signaling that the standalone E15 bill is expected to come before the House this week, though many agriculture groups and lawmakers are watching closely to see whether that vote ultimately materializes.
