Overview
The Iowa House Victory Fund (HVF) is seeking resumes for qualified candidates interested in
serving as the Field Director for a statewide legislative caucus field program. This would be a
full-time, campaign position running through November 15, 2026.
The Field Director’s main responsibility is to design a winning field plan for targeted legislative
campaigns, train campaign managers and field organizers on executing the plan, and oversee the execution of field plans. The Field Director will be responsible for managing approximately 10-15 field programs in varying constituencies across Iowa, along with training all House Democratic candidates running in 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Legislative Caucus Field Director will be responsible for overseeing the 2020 field program.
Responsibilities include
● Managing all aspects of the field programs for targeted races;
● Drafting and implementing general field plan;
● Targeted races reporting;
● Coordinated campaign and canvass tracking;
● Assisting in the hiring, training and managing campaign managers;
● Designing and implementing early voting and persuasion programs;
● Working with legislative candidates on field activities, as needed;
● Establishing accountability measures for field organizers and campaign managers
● Any other campaign related tasks, as assigned.
The HVF Field Director should expect a demanding work schedule and be
available long hours.
The HVF Field Director will report to the Executive Director.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must be highly organized, highly motivated and capable of working through
a demanding work environment.
Additionally, candidates must have:
● At least two campaign cycles of field experience;
● At least one campaign cycle managing staff;
● Experience managing some aspect of a GOTV operation;
● Experience with VAN/VoteBuilder;
● Extensive experience with Excel;
● Be willing to relocate to Des Moines, IA.
Salary and Benefits
Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
