Miller-Meeks Refuses to Sign Discharge Petition to Ban Politicians from Trading Stocks

Miller-Meeks Has Had More Than A Month to Sign a Discharge Petition to Force a Vote on a Stock Trade Ban

Des Moines – Mariannette Miller-Meeks says she supports banning members of Congress from trading stocks and profiting at Iowans’ expense, but talk is cheap.

Why hasn’t she signed the discharge petition that would force a vote on a bill to ban members of Congress from stock trading? She’s had more than a month to sign.

Reminder: Miller-Meeks is bought and paid for by Washington special interests.

  • Miller-Meeks has taken hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical industry and health product lobbyists.
  • Miller-Meeks voted against capping insulin prices on the same day she took money from an insulin manufacturer.
  • Miller-Meeks took hundreds of thousands of dollars from Big Oil special interests, then voted to end energy tax credits and raise Iowans’ costs and put jobs at risk.
  • Miller-Meeks’ campaign paid her son thousands of dollars for “campaign consulting,” then tried to cover it up when she got caught.
