Iowa Republicans Vote to Raise Americans’ Health Care Premiums
With their votes, Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks own the sticker shock Iowans are facing in their insurance premiums.
Des Moines – Fresh off their decision to cut Medicaid for thousands of Iowa families, Iowa’s Republican Representatives have now also voted to directly raise the cost of health care premiums for nearly 120,000 Iowans, and millions of other Americans across the country.
“Thousands of Iowans will lose their healthcare next year because of Republican Medicaid cuts,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “Thousands more may join them because Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Zach Nunn just voted to raise ACA premiums today. We need representatives who look out for their constituents and make it easier for working Iowa families to access affordable healthcare. With their votes, Iowa Republicans own the sticker shock Iowans are facing in their insurance premiums.”
