Yesterday marked a culmination of backlash against Congressman Steve King’s anti-immigrant statements and support of white supremacists that has been long overdue.

Unfortunately, Iowa Republicans still have yet to condemn King and Governor Reynolds just confirmed that he remains an integral member of her re-election campaign.

Leading Republican and Conservative Voices Are Finally Calling Congressman Steve King Out:

CNN: The head of House Republicans’ campaign arm sharply criticized Iowa GOP Rep. Steve King’s white nationalist rhetoric on Tuesday, just a week before King faces an unexpectedly competitive election.

The Hill: Daily Caller editor Amber Athey praised Rep. Steve Stivers (R-Ohio) for his recent condemnation of Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Wednesday, saying King’s past controversial actions are inexcusable. “This guy is an idiot, and you’ll find no defense of him from me,” Athey, media and breaking news editor at the Daily Caller, told Hill.TV’s Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton on “Rising.”

Companies Are Ending Their Campaign Contributions to Congressman Steve King:

Land O’Lakes Press Release: We take our civic responsibility seriously, want our contributions to be a positive force for good and also seek to ensure that recipients of our contributions uphold our company’s values. On that basis, we have determined that our PAC will no longer support Rep. Steve King moving forward.

Des Moines Register: By the end of the day, pet food company Purina had followed suit, saying King’s recent statements conflict with its values. That came a day after it was reported that Intel Corp. sent an internal company memo to employees that said its political committee would no longer donate to King.
