Fred Hubbell Now Leads Governor Reynolds 43% to 41%
Reynolds’ Disapproval Rating Rises as Medicaid Privatization and Ethics Scandals Plague Her Already Struggling Campaign
A new Iowa Poll released this evening signals serious trouble for the Reynolds campaign. In a race that was widely expected to be hers to lose, Governor Reynolds is now trailing Fred Hubbell 43% to 41%.
Just as troubling for the Governor, as more Iowans learn about her failed record on health care, education, and Iowa’s workforce in addition to a myriad of ethical scandals, her disapproval rating rose 5 points to 38% and her approval rating fell to 46%.
And the real gut punch for the Reynolds campaign? On the critical issues that impact the day to day lives of the people of Iowa, the majority of voters think Governor Reynolds has badly mismanaged our state’s budget and disapprove of her privatized Medicaid Disaster.
“It’s no shock that Iowans are looking for new leadership,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price.
“Governor Reynolds is an ethically challenged career politician who consistently puts partisan games and wasteful giveaways ahead of real, positive leadership for hardworking Iowa families. Her mistakes are coming home to roost, and Iowa Democrats will keep fighting to make sure that our friends and neighbors know they have a strong, Iowa values driven alternative in Fred Hubbell.”
