DES MOINES – Today in Clive, Iowa leaders and parents gathered near Ashley Hinson’s 6th Annual BBQ Bash to hold her accountable for blocking the release of the Epstein Files for months even as Iowans demanded transparency.

Key context: Ashley Hinson is facing increasingly more questions from Iowans on her decision to block the release of the Epstein Files. Earlier this month, three Iowans called into her telephone town hall demanding to know why she fought against releasing the Epstein Files

At the state fair, an Iowa digital creator called out Hinson for blocking the release of the files in a now-viral video right after a video circulated online of Hinson ignoring repeated questions about why she worked for months to oppose the release of the files.

“[Ashley Hinson] alone could have at any time decided to join the bipartisan effort in Congress to release the files, but she chose to stand in the way,” said State Representative Jennifer Konfrst. “She chose to defend the Epstein Class, who shielded pedophile and abuser Jeffrey Epstein from justice and accountability. […] As a Mom, I can’t believe Ashley Hinson would sooner go to bat for the awful individuals named in the Epstein Files than the young survivors Jeffrey Epstein abused. It is disgusting and it is disqualifying.”

“I believe that Ashley Hinson is bought and paid for by billionaires and corporations because she is,” said Nathan Sage, former Democratic U.S. Senate candidate. “She has increased her net worth times ten since she’s been in office by working for corporations and billionaires. […] At the end of the day we need people that are there to fight for the issues that matter.”

“I find Ashley Hinson’s decision to block the release of the Epstein Files deeply unsettling,” said Tiara Mays-Sims, Iowa parent, healthcare professional, and community advocate. “She should’ve been doing everything in her power to hold [Jeffrey Epstein] responsible and his co-conspirators accountable for the terrible crimes they committed, but she decided to back down from the fight. She didn’t do enough to protect those young victims”
