Iowa Farmers Call Out Ashley Hinson’s Failed Leadership Ahead of Her Ag Roundtable in Adams County
Iowa Farmers Are Getting Crushed by Hinson’s Failing Record in DC That is Putting Politics Ahead of Iowa
DES MOINES – Ashley Hinson is taking heat for holding an ag roundtable while her harmful agenda of chaotic tariffs and her support for a foreign war are sending diesel and fertilizer prices sky high, all while corporate monopolies buy out family farms.
Rather than work to fix the problems facing farmers in Washington while there is a shutdown, Hinson is focused once again on putting politics ahead of Iowans by focusing on campaigning.
“Ashley Hinson doesn’t need to convene a roundtable of farmers to learn what every Iowan already knows: farmers are struggling because of terrible ag policy from D.C.,” said Seth Watkins, Page County Farmer. “If she had listened to farmers over the past year, she would know by now that we need better access to markets, an end to the chaotic tariffs, and a crack down on big corporations that are pricing out farmers. The fact that she hasn’t accomplished any of this in 5 years in Congress tells me it’s time for her to step aside to create space for new leadership who can deliver for Iowa farmers.”
Ashley Hinson’s Failing DC Record is Putting Politics Ahead of Iowa Farmers:
- Hinson has repeatedly voted against legislation to end chaotic tariffs and continued to defend them despite their devastating effect on Iowa’s farmers.
- Hinson voted to continue the war in Iran that is jacking up the price of fertilizer.
- As a member of the DOGE caucus, Hinson supported their work, which included firing USDA workers and freezing a billion dollars in funding for federal programs that paid farmers.
- Hinson has failed to deliver bipartisan year-round E-15 legislation.
- Hinson is letting downIowa cattle ranchers who are being hurt by the U.S.-Argentina trade that could quadruple the amount of Argentine beef into the country.
