LISTEN: Hinson Says Her “Job” is to “Support” the DC Trade Agenda
Hinson: “At the End of the Day, I Do Want to See [the President’s Trade Negotiations] Materialized in Better Trade Deals. […] Our Job is to Make Sure We Support the President in Doing That”
DES MOINES – In a recent interview on WHO Newsradio 1040 AM, Ashley Hinson said it’s her “job” to “support” the disastrous DC trade agenda – the same agenda that is having a devastating impact on Iowa families and farmers.
Hinson has consistently put politics ahead of Iowans by continuing to support chaotic tariffs, reliably voting in Washington against bipartisan legislation to end the tariffs.
“Ashley Hinson is continuing to stand behind disastrous trade policies that are hurting Iowans by jacking up their cost of living and choking off access to profitable markets,” said Iowa Democratic spokesperson Drew Myers. “She’s unwilling to break with her party leadership even as her own constituents are demanding an end to the chaos and uncertainty of this Administration’s trade regime. In November, she’ll have to answer for her repeated decisions to put politics ahead of Iowa.”

- Hinson: “ We need to get the deal inked with China because, ultimately, as I traveled the state talking with farmers and manufacturers, they don’t want relief checks, they want market access. So, our job is to make sure we support the president in doing that. That’s what I’m trying to do is make sure that we have the best market and the most robust economy in places like Iowa and around the country.”
