BREAKING: Kim Reynolds Remains the Most Unpopular Governor in America for Two Years in a Row
DES MOINES – A new poll from Morning Consult shows Kim Reynolds is the nation’s most unpopular governor in the country — an honor she has held for a whole two years in a row. This is the longest stretch a politician has held the title of most unpopular governor.

Reynolds is one of only two governors with an underwater net approval rating, with 43 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval.
Reynolds and a decade of one-party rule have left Iowa worse off, but all of the Republicans running for governor have been absolutely supportive of Reynolds and the policies that have taken this state in the wrong direction. Every one of these candidates would only continue her policies and make things worse for Iowa families. Iowa is dead last in economic growth, faces a $1.2 billion budget deficit, test scores are falling, people are losing access to health care, our agriculture industry is on the brink of another farm crisis, and women, families and rural Iowans are suffering under an extreme abortion ban.
IDP Chair Rita Hart released the following statement in response:
“Congratulations to Kim Reynolds for breaking records and earning the title of the nation’s most unpopular governor for two years in a row. What an embarrassing accomplishment! Iowans know we’re on the wrong track, yet every Republican running for governor would continue Reynolds’ failed legacy: dead last in economic growth, rural Iowans struggling to stay in their communities, kids and teachers set up for failure, and working families losing access to health care. Iowans are ready for change.”
