Hinson Accepts Endorsement from ‘We All Are Going to Die’ Ernst Two Days After Voting to Kick Iowans Off Health Insurance

Ashley Hinson is Rubberstamping Ernst’s Unpopular & Deadly Agenda

DES MOINES — Today, Ashley Hinson accepted an endorsement from Iowa’s most unpopular Senator, Joni Ernst.

Ernst announced she wouldn’t run for reelection to the U.S. Senate this year after telling Iowans “we all are going to die” earlier this year in regard to votes she made to kick Iowans off their health insurance plans.

Reminder: Joni Ernst’s ideas were so unpopular, she was underwater in Iowa with her approval rating sitting at just 39 percent before she announced she wouldn’t run again.

Hinson has said that she and Ernst share values, which Hinson made obvious when she voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in history in 2025 and to kick Iowans off their insurance plans by refusing to extend Affordable Care Act premium tax credits.

“Ashley Hinson and Joni Ernst are two peas in a pod when it comes to raising prices and making health insurance unaffordable for Iowans, even if it means ‘we all are going to die,’” said Iowa Democratic Party Spokesperson Paige Godden. “With today’s endorsement, it’s clear Ashley Hinson is just like Joni Ernst and will continue prioritizing tax breaks for billionaires over hardworking Iowans.”
