On the 8th Day of Decline, the Iowa GOP Gave Us… Some of the Lowest Hourly Wages in the Nation

DES MOINES, IA – On the eighth day of Christmas, Iowans did not receive eight maids a-milking. Instead, Republicans gave Iowans some of the lowest hourly wages in the nation. 

Iowa ranks 44th in the country for hourly wages and is dead last among all Midwestern states. Iowans are getting paid nearly $9 an hour less than workers in Minnesota. 

Under GOP leadership, Iowans’ average pay has dropped more than one dollar an hour, and Iowa has fallen 11 spots in hourly wage rankings.
