NEW POLL: Kim Reynolds Remains the Most Unpopular Governor in America for Seventh Consecutive Quarter

Kim Reynolds’ popularity sinks even lower — down 5 more points this quarter.

DES MOINES, IA – A new poll from Morning Consult shows Governor Kim Reynolds is once again ranked the most unpopular governor in the United States — a title she has held for seven straight quarters.

Reynolds has the worst net negative approval rating of any U.S. governor, with 41% approval and 53% disapproval. In the past three months, her approval rating has dropped a whopping 5 points, from -7 in July to dismal -12 in October.

“Iowa keeps making headlines for all the wrong reasons — worst economy in the country, skyrocketing cancer rates, rock bottom wages, and a state government more focused on partisan games than getting anything done for real people. Now, the headlines tell us we have the most unpopular governor in the country,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “After a decade of Kim Reynolds’ failed policies and one-party rule, it’s no surprise that Iowans are unhappy with this failed decision-making. In 2026, they’ll have the chance to turn the page and choose leadership that actually works for them.”

Reynolds’ ranking comes after recent reports showing that Iowa has slipped to 49th in the nation for overall economic performance and 48th for personal income growth, according to the Trump administration. Iowa’s once first-class public school system is now middle of the pack, and Iowa is ranked number one for cancer growth in the nation.  Iowa Republicans have followed Kim Reynolds down a disastrous path. Time for change.
