Zach Nunn finally agrees to hold public forum, then chickens out

After local radio station publishes notice of a public forum with Zach Nunn, Nunn turns forum into private event

Des Moines – It’s more clear than ever — Zach Nunn is too afraid to face his constituents. What a chicken he is. Why is he running to represent us if he doesn’t have the courage to talk to his constituents?

On Thursday, Raccoon Valley Radio published an article stating Nunn would host a public forum in Jefferson at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 5. Within a few hours the Nunn campaign announced the event would actually be private.

This comes after Nunn voted for a budget bill that is catastrophic for Iowans. The bill will:

  • Increase the deficit by over 3 trillion dollars and drive up interest rates for everyone.

Nunn also has yet to say whether he will sign the discharge petition to release the Epstein files so Americans can finally know the names of the child sexual predators named in the documents.

Plus, Iowa farmers are still waiting on a new farm bill – which hasn’t been updated since 2018 – while facing uncertainty while Trump continues to threaten more tariffs.

“It’s no wonder Zach Nunn is too afraid to meet with Iowans. Iowa is 49th in the nation in economic growth, 48th in personal income growth and leading the nation in new cancer rates while Nunn just voted to take away health care, raise electricity prices, and pile up more debt,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “It is time for new leadership. Iowans deserve a Congressperson who isn’t afraid of accountability.”
