Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart responds to the first RNC debate:

“Instead of offering solutions that would benefit middle-class Iowans, the MAGA candidates on stage chose to focus on whether climate change is a hoax and who wants to pass the most extreme abortion ban,” said IDP Chair Rita Hart. “It’s clear that Republicans are desperately trying to out-MAGA each other to prove they’re extreme enough to be the Republican nominee. I know that it can be hard for them to talk about real issues — especially when President Biden has a record of unparalleled job creation, lowering prescription drug costs, and a historic infrastructure law that is uplifting all of Iowa — but the American people deserve so much better than the right-wing extremism that the GOP field has to offer.”
