In the aftermath of a disastrous visit from the President and his entourage of administration officials, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement:

“As a lifelong Iowan, today was disappointing and frustrating: we watched our elected leaders continue to support and enable a President who is doing so much damage to our state. As I travel around rural Iowa, I have seen the fear and anxiety that is gripping our state. And, instead of using this opportunity to publicly call on the President to end this self-inflicted trade war that is hurting thousands of Iowa farmers and their families, our elected officials stood by as he hurled insults and provided no long-term solutions for our state. Rod Blum and Kim Reynolds should be ashamed of themselves, and Iowans will remember this day when they head to the ballot box in November.”
