Today, the Department of Human Services announced that the largest provider in Iowa’s private Medicaid program, AmeriHealth Caritas, would be pulling out of the state.

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement:

“We can’t trust Governor Reynolds with Iowa’s health care. For the second time just in the last week, she failed our state on this critical issue. Despite Governor Reynolds’ efforts to dodge responsibility, Iowans know that she is fully complicit in the mismanagement that led to 213,000 Iowans losing their health insurance provider. We can’t—and shouldn’t have to— afford more of her feeble, misguided leadership.”
