Governor Reynolds is losing ground as more and more Iowans learn about her failed record. In the latest approval rating polling from Morning Consult, Reynolds’ net approval rating fell 6 points from last quarter’s rating.
This poll follows several new ratings changes from various election watchers across the country. Last week, Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball upgraded the gubernatorial race in Iowa from “Lean Republican” to “Toss Up” citing Reynolds’ weak record of leadership and Fred Hubbell’s strong fundraising numbers. Governing.com also moved the race in to toss up territory last week, while the Cook Political Report moved the race from “Likely Republican” to “Toss Up” in June.
“Iowans are holding Governor Reynolds responsible her failed record and misplaced priorities that leave our families behind. It’s time for new leadership that will put opportunity and growth for our communities ahead of corporate special interests and conservative campaign donors. Democrats are ready to provide that leadership on day one,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price.
