new poll released on the eve of the Governor’s Condition of the State address found Iowans deeply dissatisfied with Governor Reynolds’ leadership and partisan political agenda:
  • Only 39% of respondents approved of Governor Reynolds’ job performance while 47% disapprove.
  • 58% of voters would rather Governor Reynolds fully fund critical public services than follow through on her plan to give away more tax dollars to wealthy special interests and further deplete the state’s revenue in the middle of a budget crisis.
  • Iowans rejected Reynolds and the GOP’s attack on collective bargaining, with more than three in five voters supporting working Iowans over the Governor’s partisan agenda.
“For too long, Governor Reynolds and the Iowa GOP have ignored the voices of their constituents and chosen national Republican ideology over common sense solutions for the people of our state. Clearly, voters are done with that nonsense and ready for change in 2018,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price.
