Iowa Democratic Party petition garners more than 1,200 signatures in support of audit.
In the wake of the Reynolds Budget Crisis, the Iowa Democratic Party launched a petition calling for a nonpartisan audit of the state budget. To date, over 1,200 people have added their names to hold Governor Kim Reynolds accountable for her mismanagement and misplaces priorities.
Under Reynolds’ leadership, massive tax giveaways to special interests have led to budget deficits and devastating cuts to services Iowa business and families depend on. On top of that, she may have illegally transferred funds to deny accountability for her budgetary disaster.

“Iowans are frustrated that Kim Reynolds and the Iowa GOP tanked our budget with special interest giveaways,” said Iowa Democratic Party Spokesperson Tess Seger. “Now, Governor Reynolds keeps trying to duck her responsibility for this crisis. Enough is enough. That’s why so many Iowans have stepped up to demand a nonpartisan audit to hold Reynolds accountable for this budget mess.”
