Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement on Labor Day:
“Today, we celebrate the incredible contributions of working people in Iowa. Our state is built on the backs of a dedicated and hopeful people who knew if they worked hard they could create an amazing place that guaranteed prosperity for generations. The purpose of the Labor Movement is to protect that prosperity and make sure that the fruits of that labor continue, but right now, there are those in power who seek to rob working Iowans of the success they built.
If Governor Reynolds and Iowa Republicans maintain control of our state, they will continue their barrage on working families and those who seek to make life better for the working and middle class. They will continue to take hard earned tax dollars from working families and give them away to the wealthiest corporations in the world.
We look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in labor this fall while they fend off yet another round of recertification votes and delivering common sense leadership that prioritizes working families on November 6th.”
