In honor of International Women’s Day, Iowa Democratic Party Third Vice Chair June Owens released the following statement:
“The strength, the power, the resiliency of women has never been on brighter display than it is in this moment, and there’s so much left for us to achieve for ourselves and for this world. This International Women’s Day, I’m proud to help the Iowa Democratic Party celebrate those women who overcame severe and systemic oppression to shape this world, in big and small ways, for the better and support the women who want to step up and try. And, to those who continue to try to put women back in a box, strip us of our rights and our dignity, we have this message: we will never give up. We will always work harder, and we will achieve equality in this lifetime.”
