Today, following the health care vote in the Senate, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released this statement:
“Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley have betrayed the trust of Iowa. So far, every proposed bill during this partisan repeal process has been a disaster for the thousands of Iowa families, people with disabilities, and retirees who need the Affordable Care Act to make ends meet. There is no evidence to suggest that the coming debate will end with a better result.
With this vote, Ernst and Grassley have made it clear that revenge politics, special interests, and insurance company profits matter more than our families, our neighbors, and our communities. The first rule of politics should be do no harm – but with this vote, they are hurting the people of Iowa. Iowans will not forget and we will hold them accountable.”
