IDP Chair Congratulates Kamala Harris on Resounding Victory in First Vice Presidential Debate
DES MOINES – Tonight, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Mark Smith congratulated Senator Kamala Harris on winning the vice presidential debate:
“Tonight, Senator Kamala Harris spoke directly to the American people about her and Vice President Joe Biden’s plans to get our country back on track and build America back better. Kamala Harris clearly and resoundingly won this debate because she focused on the issues that matter most to Iowa families: expanding access to affordable, high-quality health care, giving working families and small businesses a fair shot, and tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Vice President Pence and the administration are desperately trying to outrun their failed record, but the facts speak for themselves: they left working Iowans behind while giving out handouts to big corporations and special interests at every turn.
