After signing the most extreme anti-women’s health care law in the country, Governor Reynolds said “our work is not done.” Perhaps, we now know what the governor means after her comments come to light about punishing doctors who perform abortions, which she equates to “murder.”

In a Daily Times Herald interview, Governor Reynolds says she is open to punishing doctors who perform abortions the same way we punish murderers.

Should the doctors and women involved in the abortion get a ticket, a fine, or should they be executed?

“I think that we would take a look and make sure that the punishment met the crime,” Reynolds said.

Furthermore, this comes after Reynolds admitted in an IPTV interview that she did not believe that there should be any exceptions for abortion in cases of  rape or incest.

As newly released state data shows staggering decline in family planning services – 73 percent – since Governor Reynolds and Iowa Republicans reduced funding and closed four Planned Parenthood clinics, it’s clear Iowa women deserve more access to care not less for political gain.
