Today, Iowa Democrats are hitting the ground running for the General Election and launching the “Our Iowa Story: Fields of Opportunity Lost” tour to set the record straight about Governor Kim Reynolds’ failed record. This afternoon, House Minority Leader Mark Smith, Des Moines School Board Member Kyrstin Delagardelle Shelley, and I-35 School Board Member Josh Hughes will join Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price in Des Moines to discuss how Kim Reynolds’ failure to create opportunity for Iowa families will lead to her defeat in November.

Reynolds’ budget crisis has decimated Iowa’s ability to fulfill the promise of fields of opportunity for all. Due to Reynolds’ mismanagement, the resources available for Iowans trying to get ahead are shrinking – from the foundational K-12 schools to re-training available through community colleges.

Kim Reynolds’ Iowa story is an attempt to cover up the consequences of her failed leadership and political games that always seem to leave Iowa families in the dust. This is the real Iowa story – this is Our Iowa Story.
